Need A Nerd has created preferred strategic relationships with:

Dick Smith

The leading computer and computer accessories retailer in New Zealand with 71 stores nationwide.

  • Need A Nerd has an agreement to provide Dick Smith customer’s technology in-store / onsite set-up and support.
  • Need A Nerd franchisees / managers provide ongoing training to the Dick Smith mangers / staff on our service offering.  This will ensure the Dick Smith staff keep us top of mind when they are selling a computer, TV and home entertainment system that needs to be set-up for the customer and also call on Need A Nerd if the customer has a fault with a Dick Smith product.
  • Dick Smith staff have incentives (bonuses) to sell our set-up and support services.  Our set-up services will be their 1st or 2nd upsell product when they sell a Computer, TV, home entertainment system or other technology device.
  • Dick Smith will supply the following marketing collateral to support the Need A Nerd Services:
    1. Brochures in-store with brochure stand
    2. Posters
    3. Promotional material on display computer and TV screens
    4. Include the Need A Nerd brand in the Dick Smith external direct mail flyers – 1 million New Zealand households
    5. Full page on their website and occasional promotion on the home page

Sony Style Stores

Sony has 2 product display stores in Auckland and 1 each in Wellington / Christchurch. Need A Nerd has been chosen as the preferred Auckland provider and back-up provider in Wellington / Christchurch to support their customer’s technology onsite set-up and support.

This is just a start as Need A Nerd is currently in discussions with various other strategic partners about further exciting opportunities.

Need A Nerd will receive the additional benefit from these strategic partners of increased product / service up-sell opportunities (home entertainment and telecommunications) to existing and new customers at almost no additional cost.  This will result in higher revenues and increased gross profit per customer visit.
